Android Powered Netbook on it’s way to UK

Running Android 4.0 – Ice Cream Sandwich, the GoNote is the UK’s first Netbook running Android 4.0 and features a touchscreen. The Device is aimed at back to school students and has parent friendly price of £149 and is available in White or Black. The Netbook is powered by a 1.2GHz ARM Rockchip RK2918 CPU and has 1GB Ram and a 8GB SSD (Storage is expandable up to 32gb via MicroSD)

Project Sputnik Launching In The Fall

Dell rather than the Russian space program is launching Project Sputnik this coming Fall season.

“Project Sputnik is a great example of the employee-driven innovation we built Dell’s incubation program to enable,” said Nnamdi Orakwue, executive sponsor of the Dell incubation program and executive assistant to Michael Dell, in a press release on Wednesday. “This project represents the first of many new ideas Dell employees will test with customers or partners through the program, and we look forward to supporting Sputnik to be successful as it becomes a product this fall.”

A Laptop based on Dell’s XPS 13 will ship with Ubuntu 12.04 to certain regions in the Autumn.

Endless Pi for Everyone

The Raspberry Pi, the little computer that has been very much in demand due to it’s low cost and hacking possibilities but not very available has had it’s production run increased  up to 4000 units a day by RS Components and Premier Farnell, two major electronics distributors based in the UK. Customers can now buy more than one unit, however due to the large backlog of current orders, customers can expect delivery by the end of September.
